Assam University in Silchar has established a partnership with Surindra Rajabhat University in Thailand through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering academic collaboration. The agreement was signed at an international conference focused on 'Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology: Crisis Management and Security Enhancement for Border Communities,' which gathered participants from 18 universities worldwide. Assam University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, addressed the conference, discussing the critical role of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing challenges such as geographical isolation and cross-border crimes. He highlighted the importance of AI-driven predictive analytics for enhancing security and crisis management. Associate Professor Deepjyoti Choudhury also contributed to the discussions, focusing on the implications of digital technologies in crisis scenarios, including cyber threats and misinformation. The MoU is expected to facilitate joint research, student exchanges, and cultural programs, thereby strengthening educational ties between India and Thailand and providing participants with valuable international exposure.
