Akshay Kumar recently addressed the criticism surrounding his appearance in the historical drama 'Samrat Prithviraj', where he sported a fake moustache that drew negative reactions from some viewers. In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, he clarified that the character required a specific moustache that he could not grow naturally, leading to the decision to use a fake one. Kumar expressed his regret, stating, “If people didn’t like it, then I am sorry.” This controversy resurfaced as he enjoys positive feedback for his current project, 'Bhooth Bangla'. The film 'Samrat Prithviraj', directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and released in June 2022, featured a cast including Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood, but failed to impress at the box office. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna also weighed in, suggesting that Kumar's portrayal did not align with the historical figure of Prithviraj Chauhan.
