Apple is preparing to release updated versions of the Apple TV and HomePod mini, both of which have been ready for months but are delayed due to challenges in developing new Siri and artificial intelligence features. According to Mark Gurman, employees at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters are already using these new devices. The HomePod mini will see an internal upgrade, moving from the S5 chip, introduced seven years ago, to a new processor that will enable advanced AI functionalities. The Apple TV will keep its existing design, which has not changed significantly since 2010, but will replace the five-year-old A15 chip with a newer processor. Additionally, there may be a minor refresh to the Siri Remote, although its overall design is expected to remain the same. Apple's home accessory lineup has not seen many updates recently, as the company has focused on developing new products. A dedicated smart home hub featuring a screen and facial recognition is also in the works, but its release has been delayed to coincide with the broader Siri and AI initiatives scheduled for a fall launch.
