Tamil Nadu recorded a historic voter turnout of 85.1%, according to provisional figures from the Election Commission of India. This increase is attributed to a Special Intensive Revision exercise that resulted in the deletion of 68 lakh electors. Although the state saw an addition of approximately 24.8 lakh voters, this figure is lower compared to previous election cycles, which saw increases of 31.1 lakh between 2016 and 2021, and 64.8 lakh from 2011 to 2016. The turnout varied significantly across the state's constituencies, with 220 out of 234 constituencies registering increases in voter participation. Notable increases were observed in Sriperumbudur (over 64,000), Madhavaram (over 57,000), and Sholinganallur (over 56,000). Conversely, constituencies such as Madurai South, RK Nagar, and Thousand Lights experienced declines in turnout, with decreases of approximately 7,200, 6,300, and 5,700 voters, respectively.
