A couple has been accused of committing the 'ultimate dine and dash' at The Halfway House restaurant in Brentwood, Essex, on May 16. After enjoying a lavish meal that included two steaks, several starters, and 14 baby Guinness shots, they allegedly left without paying their £231.30 bill. General manager Deanne Perkins noted that the couple requested a table near the rear exit, which raised suspicions that the act was premeditated. CCTV footage captured the woman leaving the restaurant while on her phone, followed by the man who checked for staff before exiting through the back. After reviewing the footage, Perkins contacted the police and shared the video online to warn other local businesses. Following the social media exposure, the woman returned to pay her half of the bill, amounting to £90, but the man has not yet settled the remaining £141.30. Perkins expressed disbelief at how much food they consumed, considering the restaurant's generous portion sizes.
