In a remarkable achievement, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) became the first uncapped pair to score 1,000 partnership runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This milestone was reached during their match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the HPCA Stadium on Thursday. The opening duo added 50 runs for the first wicket, with Arya scoring 22 runs before being dismissed by Deepak Chahar. Arya's performance also made him the second uncapped Indian player to score over 350 runs in each of his first two IPL seasons, following Ambati Rayudu. Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh showcased an impressive innings, scoring 57 runs off just 32 balls, including six fours and four sixes, before being dismissed by Shardul Thakur. His performance this season has also placed him among the few uncapped players to score over 400 runs in multiple IPL seasons, a feat previously achieved by Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma. The contributions from both players were instrumental in PBKS posting a competitive total of 200 runs.
