This potential funding round comes on the heels of a significant investment from Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (NYSE: ICE), which invested $600 million to acquire a $1.6 billion stake in Polymarket. The valuation of Polymarket is notably lower than its rival Kalshi, which recently raised over $1 billion at a valuation of $22 billion. The prediction market industry has been experiencing rapid growth, with analysts from Bernstein projecting that market volumes could reach approximately $240 billion by 2026 and potentially hit $1 trillion by 2030. Both Polymarket and Kalshi are leading players in this burgeoning sector, with each platform achieving monthly notional volumes exceeding $10 billion last month, according to Dune Analytics.
