C Joseph Vijay, the leader of the Tamil Nadu Vanniyar Katchi (TVK), has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after securing support from smaller parties, including the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). His coalition has garnered the backing of 120 MLAs, with the TVK winning 108 seats independently. The oath-taking ceremony is set for May 10 at 10:00 AM at Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event will be broadcasted live across various platforms, reflecting its political significance. Following the ceremony, the Governor has instructed Vijay to seek a vote of confidence in the Assembly by May 13. Vijay is expected to meet with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to formally claim the government formation, presenting letters of support from allied parties.
