Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state government will allocate ₹5 crore to each akhara participating in the 2027 Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela. Smaller religious orders will receive ₹15 lakh each. The government will also cover electricity bills for the akharas through the Kumbh Mela Authority. Fadnavis emphasized the importance of the Kumbh Mela as an opportunity for Maharashtra to demonstrate public service, stating that preparations are being made with a long-term vision to ensure the infrastructure benefits future events held every 12 years. Permanent development works are underway, including a corridor around the Trimbakeshwar Temple, which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, and restoration of local temples and sites. A comprehensive healthcare plan is being developed to address medical needs during the event. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that security arrangements will be robust and that funds for infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims will be made available promptly. The government also launched the Trimbakeshwar Darshan Path project, estimated to cost ₹665 crore, which includes a 9,000-capacity Shiv Darshan Complex.
