AR’s Breakfast and Brunch, a popular Mexican-style brunch restaurant, is expanding with a new location in Johnson County, Kansas. The restaurant will occupy the former Mother Clucker chicken spot in Leawood’s Park Place at 11635 Ash St. Owner Oscar Romero expressed excitement about the new venue, stating it was an ideal choice due to the shopping center's appeal and the anticipated foot traffic. He aims to open by the end of the month, hoping to replicate the success of the original location in downtown Overland Park, which opened in 2023. The new site will feature a menu rich in Mexican-inspired brunch options, including horchata waffles, chilaquiles, and churro pancakes. Kansas City Star editor Scott Chasen praised the restaurant's breakfast tacos and recommended pairing them with vanilla iced coffee and churros. This expansion comes after the closure of Mother Clucker in December and follows Romero's previous opening in Westport, which took over an old location of Chingu. Romero also operates Snack Bar in Lenexa, specializing in Mexican street food and snacks.
