J.B. Bickerstaff has been recognized as the 2026 Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year for his exceptional leadership of the Detroit Pistons. Under his guidance, the team achieved a remarkable 60-22 record, clinching the top seed in the Eastern Conference. This award highlights Bickerstaff's ability to turn around a franchise that suffered a dismal 14-68 record just two seasons ago. His coaching has not only led to a 16-win improvement from the previous season but also established the Pistons as the second-best defensive team in the league, trailing only the Oklahoma City Thunder.
