In response, villagers quickly organized to drive the leopard away and managed to confine it inside the house of a local resident named Naseem. The Forest Department was alerted, and a rescue team led by veterinarian Dr. Deepak Verma arrived promptly. The leopard, a young female estimated to be around one-and-a-half years old, was tranquilized and captured.
