Mohammad Salim Dola, a 59-year-old alleged international drug trafficker, is currently in the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai until May 8. Dola was recently extradited from Turkiye, where he was arrested based on an Interpol notice requested by the NCB in 2024. Authorities have identified him as a key associate of global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and have linked him to a network of chemists and pharmaceutical dealers aiding his drug trafficking operations. Dola, also known as Salim Ismail Dola, has been dubbed the 'Mephedrone King' due to his extensive involvement in the trafficking of this synthetic stimulant, along with other drugs such as heroin and charas. Investigators are probing his connections with these chemists and plan to summon them for questioning. Dola reportedly used aliases in Turkiye and intended to purchase property there to secure citizenship. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that Dola has been evading Indian law enforcement for years and is wanted in multiple narcotics trafficking cases.
