The 52-year-old actress, best known for her role as Maxine Peacock, revealed that her first chemotherapy treatment left her feeling completely exhausted. In her Instagram update, Shaw explained that the chemotherapy affects her heart, necessitating regular scans. She expressed frustration over the conditions in hospitals, urging the government to invest more in the NHS. Shaw shared that her immune system is now compromised, limiting her ability to socialize. Despite the challenges, she remains determined, stating, 'My body is now going to war with that thing in me which doesn't belong here.' She thanked her supporters for their love and encouragement, acknowledging the difficulty in responding to individual messages.
