Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi, has reportedly increased the prices of its budget smartphones, the Redmi Note 15 5G and the Redmi 15 5G, in India. The price hike of ₹2,000 applies to various configurations of both models. The Redmi Note 15 5G's base variant, which features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, now retails at ₹26,999, while the 8GB + 256GB configuration is priced at ₹29,999, marking a total increase of ₹4,000 from its launch price of ₹22,999. Similarly, the Redmi 15 5G has seen its base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage rise to ₹20,499, and the 8GB + 128GB variant is now priced at ₹22,499. The top-end model of the Redmi 15 5G also experienced a ₹2,000 increase, bringing its price to ₹24,499. The updated prices are reflected on Xiaomi's official website, although the company has not disclosed specific reasons for the increases. Analysts suggest that the hikes may be due to rising global component costs, particularly a shortage of RAM linked to increased demand from AI data centers, which has impacted budget smartphones significantly.
