Sabrina Carpenter, a prominent pop artist, has been granted a temporary restraining order against 31-year-old William Applegate, who is accused of stalking her and attempting to enter her residence in the Hollywood Hills. The restraining order prohibits Applegate from being within 100 yards of Carpenter, her sister Sarah, and her sister’s partner. Carpenter's request for the order details a series of alarming incidents, including an attempt by Applegate to forcibly open her front door on May 23, 2023. This behavior escalated after a pattern of stalking began around April 20. Carpenter expressed in her declaration that Applegate's actions have caused her significant emotional distress and fear. Following his arrest for trespassing, Applegate reportedly returned to the area, engaging in what Carpenter described as deliberate surveillance. The restraining order also extends to Carpenter's workplace and vehicle, barring Applegate from any form of harassment or contact. A court hearing regarding the trespassing case is set for June 18.
