Gossard, a prominent UK lingerie brand established in 1901 and known for bringing the Wonderbra to the UK market in the 1960s, has officially entered liquidation as of May 14, 2026. This decision follows the company's inability to manage substantial debts, including over £2.48 million owed to suppliers and £346,191 to HMRC. Liquidators from CFS Restructuring will oversee the sale of Gossard's assets, which include approximately £642,993 worth of stock, expected to generate only £17,400 during clearance. The company, which operated from The Courtaulds Building in Sherwood, Nottingham, thanked its customers and employees in a statement. Additionally, Gossard's sister company, Embody (Brands) Limited, and another associated firm, Pretty Polly Limited, also entered liquidation on the same date, compounding the impact on employees and creditors. Overall, Gossard is projected to face a £2.81 million deficit when settling its debts.
