In Dwarka, Delhi, two men, aged 22 and 24, were arrested early Sunday after a brief exchange of gunfire with police. The suspects are reportedly linked to the Vikas Lagarpuria gang and were involved in an attempted murder of a businessman in Shyam Vihar Phase-2. The attack occurred when two armed assailants arrived on a motorcycle; however, the victim escaped due to a gun malfunction. Following the incident, police launched a manhunt under the supervision of additional DCP Niharika Bhatt. The Anti-Auto Theft Squad intercepted the suspects, and one opened fire, hitting a constable's bulletproof vest. Police retaliated, injuring the suspect in the leg. A 7.65mm pistol and a country-made firearm were recovered, along with the motorcycle used in the crime. A fresh case has been registered regarding the encounter, and investigations are ongoing.
