Sanjiv Goenka, the founder of the RPSG Group, discussed the challenges faced by his cricket franchise, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), compared to the success of his football club, Mohun Bagan Super Giant. In an interview with NDTV, Goenka stated that while they have identified and addressed issues in LSG's bowling department, the batting lineup has struggled to perform consistently. He noted that LSG, which entered the IPL in 2022, has finished seventh in both of the last two seasons and is currently positioned seventh again with two wins from five matches. In contrast, Mohun Bagan has had a remarkable run, becoming the second team to achieve a Cup and Shield double in the 2024/25 Indian Super League (ISL) season, following a strong performance in the previous year. Goenka expressed his desire to find the right formula for success in cricket, acknowledging the complexities involved in replicating the football club's achievements.
