Samajwadi Party MPs Rajeev Rai and Neeraj Maurya have criticized the Indian government for its handling of inflation, particularly following recent price hikes in LPG cylinders. Rai claimed that his warnings about rising prices after elections have materialized, labeling the government as 'directionless' and lacking a coherent strategy. Maurya echoed these sentiments, expressing concern over the increasing costs and urging for an all-party meeting to address the situation. Meanwhile, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi defended the government, attributing the price rises to global trends and asserting that India's inflation rate is comparatively lower due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. As of Sunday, domestic LPG prices have risen by ₹29 per cylinder, now costing ₹942, reflecting the impact of international market fluctuations amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas emphasized that domestic prices are linked to global rates but stated that the government continues to manage effective consumer pricing.
