Sudharsan, who was playing his 79th T20 match on Saturday, needed just 78 innings to join the 3000-run club in the 20-over format of the game. By reaching the 3000-run mark in 78 innings, Sudharsan became the fastest batter in the world to score 3000 T20 runs. The previous record of being the fastest player in the world to score 3000 runs in T20s was in the name of former Australian batter Shaun Marsh. Marsh, who played in the IPL for Punjab Kings, scored his 3000th run in the 85th innings.
