The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has taken decisive action by removing former MLA S.V.S.N. Varma from his position as the Pithapuram constituency in-charge. This decision follows ongoing conflicts between Varma and local leaders of the Jana Sena Party (JSP). Varma, who lost to Pendem Dorababu of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the 2019 elections, had aspirations to run again in the 2024 elections but was required to step aside for JSP president K. Pawan Kalyan, who won against YSRCP's Vanga Geetha. Despite his discontent, Varma has rarely criticized the party publicly. He stated that he was consulted before the decision and will comply with it. In response to these internal issues, TDP plans to form a special committee to manage party affairs in Pithapuram, aiming to restore order and focus ahead of the upcoming elections.
