The DuRoBo Krono e-ink reader, launched in April, has recently expanded its market reach to Amazon UK, where it is priced at £249. This follows two significant software updates that introduced new features enhancing user experience. The first update, Version 1.1, added a Transfer app for wireless file sharing, improved reading controls with adjustable fonts and layouts, and a cleaner bookshelf interface. The subsequent Version 1.2.1 introduced a native browser, addressing user feedback for easier web access, and an Invert Scrolling option for the Smart Dial. The Krono runs on Android 15 with full Google Play Store access and features a 6.13-inch Carta 1200 ePaper display at 300 PPI, an octa-core processor, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. Weighing 173 g and measuring 9 mm thick, it resembles a smartphone more than a traditional e-reader. Core features include the Smart Dial, Spark idea capture tool, Libby AI assistant, and built-in music. DuRoBo has indicated that it will continue to provide incremental updates as the device evolves.
