On June 1, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm alongside his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, marking his first public engagement related to agriculture in two months. This visit, reported by the Korean Central News Agency, highlighted Kim's ongoing interest in agricultural development, as he previously visited the site five times last year, including its groundbreaking and completion ceremonies. During the inspection, Kim emphasized the need for the farm to enhance productivity, crop diversity, and scientific management to ensure the supply of nutritious vegetables. He noted that the farm supplies hundreds of tons of vegetables daily to childcare and educational institutions. Additionally, Kim inspected ongoing construction of medical facilities and a vegetable processing plant in the area, which is about 50% complete. The Sinuiju Vegetable Science Research Center is being promoted as a vital base for greenhouse farming research and distribution in North Korea. This visit appears aimed at portraying Kim as a leader attentive to the living conditions of his people while still focusing on national defense.
