President Reginald DesRoches highlighted the university's focus on forming partnerships in areas such as artificial intelligence, health innovation, and climate research. The National Education Policy (NEP) in India allows foreign institutions to establish campuses, prompting Rice to consider a physical presence in the country. Despite challenges related to visa processing under the Trump administration, DesRoches noted that the university has not experienced significant declines in admissions, maintaining the highest yield in its history at the undergraduate level. He emphasized that Rice's commitment to affordability and support for international students remains strong, with multiple scholarship options available.
