Temasek Holdings and TPG Newquest are in the process of inviting new investors to join their portfolio company, Cloudnine Hospitals, which specializes in mother and child care. The hospital chain is currently valued at $1 billion and the existing investors are looking to raise between $200 million and $300 million by potentially selling 20-30% of their stake. This fundraising initiative aims to enhance Cloudnine's operations and expand its footprint, which already includes over 40 centers across major Indian cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. The company, founded by Dr. R Kishore Kumar and others, focuses on specialized areas like maternity and neonatal care, which are increasingly shifting towards single-specialty formats. Cloudnine Hospitals has reported an operating profit of approximately ₹300 crore (around $36 million) for the last financial year, reflecting the growing demand for specialized healthcare services in India.
