In its 2025 Ads Safety Report, Google revealed that it suspended 1.7 million advertiser accounts and blocked 483.7 million policy-violating advertisements in India. Globally, the tech giant removed over 8.3 billion ads and suspended 24.9 million accounts. The report highlights the effectiveness of Google's Gemini artificial intelligence platform, which enhanced the detection of malicious ads, particularly as scammers increasingly utilize generative AI for deceptive advertising. According to Keerat Sharma, VP & General Manager of Ads Privacy and Safety at Google, the AI models analyze hundreds of billions of signals to preemptively block threats. In India, the most common violations included issues related to trademarks, financial services, copyright, personalization, and misuse of the ad network. The integration of Gemini allowed Google to act on four times as many user reports in 2025 compared to the previous year.
