Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the ongoing issues with the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, which has faced criticism following the release of Class 12 examination results. Pradhan stated that he takes responsibility for the discrepancies that emerged, assuring students that their concerns regarding evaluation and scanned answer sheets will be resolved. The controversy arose after several students reported low scores and issues such as blurred scans and mismatched answer sheets. In response, the CBSE has acknowledged some errors and will initiate a re-evaluation process for students seeking clarification on their marks. As of May 26, the board had received over 404,000 applications related to these concerns. Pradhan highlighted the scale of the operation, noting that nearly 17 lakh students had taken the exams, resulting in the evaluation of approximately 98 lakh answer sheets, totaling around 40 crore pages.
