This response came after Trump shared a video from conservative radio host Michael Savage, who criticized US birthright citizenship laws and disparaged several countries, including India and China. In light of the backlash, the US Embassy in New Delhi issued a clarification, asserting that Trump views India as a 'great country' led by 'a very good friend of mine.' The Indian Ministry of External Affairs responded to the situation, labeling Trump's comments as 'uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste,' emphasizing that they do not reflect the reality of the India-US relationship. Additionally, the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai shared a video showcasing Maharashtra's cultural richness, suggesting that Trump could benefit from a visit to experience India's heritage.
