In the Philippines, Karl Josef Legazpi has officially taken his oath as the new representative of the Pinoy Workers party-list in the House of Representatives. This follows the resignation of former Rep. Franz Vincent Legazpi, who stepped down from his post last Monday. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed Legazpi's appointment shortly before his swearing-in by Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III. Prior to this role, Legazpi was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the second Commissioner-at-Large of the National Youth Commission. Additionally, Nathaniel Oducado, a representative from the 1-Tahanan party-list, also submitted his resignation, citing personal health issues rather than political reasons. Oducado revealed that he has a family history of lung illnesses and suffers from asthma, which has recently affected his health and energy levels. He emphasized the need to prioritize his health and family during an ambush interview at the Batasang Pambansa complex.
