Sumit Antil, a two-time Paralympics champion, has accused his former coach Naval Singh of verbal abuse and mental harassment. Antil's claims include instances of degrading language directed at athletes and their families, including derogatory remarks about renowned athletes like Neeraj Chopra. Chopra, who supports Antil, has also reported experiencing similar abusive language from Singh. Both athletes have submitted complaints to the Sports Authority of India (SAI), demanding immediate action against Singh, who is a Dronacharya awardee. Despite no longer coaching Antil, Singh continues to train other athletes, including rising star Sachin Yadav. SAI has acknowledged the complaint and stated that Singh is not an employee but is part of the National Coaching Camp organized by the Athletics Federation of India. Antil expressed concerns about Singh's behavior during training sessions, including alleged intoxication, creating a hostile environment for athletes. He has called for a formal inquiry and a ban on Singh from the coaching system to prevent further incidents of abuse.
