Western Hills High School in Cincinnati has officially renamed its softball field to Lori Troescher Field to honor the legendary coach who dedicated 26 years to leading the Mustangs. Troescher compiled an impressive record of 297 wins and 173 losses and was recognized as the Enquirer's Coach of the Year in 1995 after guiding the team to the OHSAA State Softball Tournament, marking a historic achievement as the only Cincinnati Public School to qualify for state. Throughout her career, she received Conference Coach of the Year honors 10 times and was inducted into the Western Hills Hall of Honor in 2004. In addition to her softball coaching, Troescher contributed as a volleyball coach and initiated the girls bowling program in 2005. She has been a teacher at Western Hills since 1984. The renaming ceremony will take place before the home game against Withrow on April 13, starting at 4 p.m., with Troescher throwing the ceremonial first pitch.
