During the 75th annual convocation of Karnatak University in Dharwad, former ISRO chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar addressed graduates about the significant impact of rapid scientific advancements on society. He noted that while technology reduces physical effort, it also alters human relationships and our connection with nature. Kiran Kumar urged graduates to cultivate intelligence, adaptability, and courage as they transition from academia to a more unpredictable world. He cautioned against over-reliance on existing technologies and advocated for continuous learning and self-reflection. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of 113 students who collectively earned 274 gold medals, with Shreyas and Aditya Yaligar each receiving 11 gold medals. Additionally, 252 candidates were awarded PhDs. Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot emphasized the importance of hard work and digital literacy, reminding graduates that failure is a stepping stone to success. Honorary doctorates were conferred upon Achyuta Samanta, G.S. Sangreshi, and Jitendra Majethia for their contributions to various fields.
