Kamlesh Chaudhary, a suspect in the murder of hotel owner Vineet Rai, was killed in a police encounter late Wednesday evening in Kurtha, Ghazipur district, India. The police acted on a tip-off regarding Chaudhary's location near Pauhari Baba Ashram. During the operation, SWAT team in-charge Rohit Mishra sustained a bullet injury when Chaudhary allegedly opened fire on the police. In retaliation, police shot Chaudhary, who was subsequently rushed to a hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. Deputy Inspector General of Police Vaibhav Krishna confirmed the encounter and stated that five teams have been formed to apprehend others involved in the murder case. Vineet Rai, 26, was shot dead by three assailants last Friday as he exited his hotel, marking a violent escalation in the ongoing investigation into his murder.
