In the Kanha Tiger Reserve located in Madhya Pradesh, India, officials reported the death of a third tiger cub in just five days, raising alarms about the well-being of the remaining cubs. Since January 7, the state has recorded 24 tiger fatalities, with a significant number occurring since April 2. The latest cub was found dead in the Sarhi zone, and preliminary investigations suggest that the tigress, from which the cubs originated, may be struggling to hunt, potentially leading to starvation among her offspring. The cubs, all about one year old, are part of a litter from the tigress in the Amahi area. Authorities are now closely monitoring the tigress and providing her with supplementary food to improve her condition, as they remain concerned for the health of the fourth cub. The overall number of tiger deaths in the Kanha Reserve for April has reached four, including an adult tigress that died due to infighting.
