Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reviewed the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY), revealing that 47.2 lakh health cards have been issued, benefiting 23 lakh families across the state. The scheme has enabled cashless treatment for 3.7 lakh patients, amounting to ₹654 crore in healthcare costs. Notably, 51.5% of the cardholders are women and 48.5% are men, with a significant 69% of cards issued in rural areas. A total of 835 hospitals, comprising 223 government and 612 private facilities, are part of the initiative, which aims to enhance healthcare access. Mann emphasized the scheme's positive public response and its role in advancing universal healthcare in Punjab. To improve accessibility, the government is developing a WhatsApp-based facility and a mobile app for downloading health cards, ensuring that all 65 lakh families in Punjab can benefit from cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh under this ambitious program.
