The statue's journey began when it was displayed at Sony's E3 booth, later moving to a warehouse and then to The Arc Arcade in Astoria, Oregon, until its closure in 2017. Momoka, a dedicated fan of the franchise, stumbled upon a video of the statue and embarked on a quest to locate it. After some detective work, including tracking down the new owner of the gas station, she learned that the statue had been left untouched since the property was acquired in 2021. Upon visiting the site, she was surprised by the statue's size and condition, noting some fading paint and damage but overall good shape. Momoka intends to restore the statue and hopes to showcase it at a retro gaming convention in Portland, seeking assistance from fellow fans for the restoration process. This rediscovery highlights the enduring legacy of Spyro, even as the character remains less prominent in recent gaming history.
