ESAF Small Finance Bank, headquartered in India, reported a significant turnaround with a net profit of ₹24 crore for the March quarter of FY26, compared to a loss of ₹183 crore in the same quarter last year. The bank's total income surged to ₹1,196 crore, up from ₹1,037 crore in the previous year, driven by an increase in interest income to ₹995 crore. The operating profit also saw a notable rise to ₹241 crore, compared to ₹91 crore in Q4 FY25. Furthermore, the bank's asset quality showed improvement, with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) reducing to 5.41% of gross advances, down from 6.87% a year earlier. Net NPAs also decreased to 1.77%, contributing to a reduction in provisions to ₹214 crore from ₹332 crore in the same quarter last year. Additionally, the bank raised ₹150 crore through Tier II bonds, enhancing its capital adequacy ratio to 22.2%.
