The 16th Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Festival concluded in Jarkhar village on Sunday, marking a historic moment for Gill Club Ghawaddi as they clinched their first senior title by defeating Neeta Club Rampur 6-4 in a thrilling final. This victory is significant as it is the first time in the 40-year history of the Jarkhar Games that Gill Club has emerged as champions. In the junior category, HTC Centre Rampur also celebrated its maiden title, narrowly defeating Kila Raipur Hockey Centre 1-0. The festival also featured a third-place match in the senior category, where Jarkhar Academy triumphed over Amargarh with a score of 6-4. In the junior section, Guru Teg Bahadur Academy from Chachrari secured third place by beating Jarkhar Academy 5-4. Individual accolades included Dalvir Singh from Gill Club and Rajvir Singh from HTC Centre being named Heroes of the Tournament. Other award recipients were honored for their performances, with all winners receiving bicycles. The closing ceremony was attended by sports personalities and notable guests, and several contributors to sports were recognized with the Punjab Da Maan Award.
