Minister Aadhav Arjuna announced significant infrastructure developments in Villivakkam, a locality in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, including the establishment of a medical college, an engineering college, an arts college, and a higher secondary school. During a media briefing following a review meeting with civic officials, he highlighted the Chief Minister's directive for MLAs to collaborate with various departments to tackle civic issues. The minister noted that land identification for these projects will occur within 10 days. He also addressed pressing concerns such as women's safety and drug culture, stating plans to close six out of eleven Tasmac liquor shops near schools and places of worship. Furthermore, he acknowledged the lack of water supply pipelines in over 50% of the area and pledged to resolve these issues alongside improving storm-water drains before the monsoon season. Enhanced CCTV surveillance and proper documentation of women's complaints at police stations were also emphasized as part of the safety measures.
