Kuvempu University, located in Shankaraghatta, Karnataka, is set to host its 35th annual convocation on May 6. The ceremony will honor 79 meritorious students with a total of 155 gold medals, highlighting the achievements of 68 women and 11 men. Among the honorees, Abhishek HM from the MA Kannada department stands out with an impressive 10 gold medals and two cash prizes. The university will also confer honorary doctorates to Konanduru Lingappa for his contributions to social and cultural sectors, KV Akshara for his work in theatre, and Prof HA Ranganath for his dedication to education. Additionally, 163 candidates will be awarded PhD degrees, primarily from the science faculty. In a recent update, the university's registrar announced the discontinuation of physical marks cards due to government mandates, urging students to utilize DigiLocker for their official documents. This decision follows recent protests on campus, and the university is working to expedite pending examination results.
