Eddie Jones, the head coach of Japan's national rugby team, has been suspended for four games and will face a salary cut due to incidents of verbal abuse directed at local match officials during a Japan Under-23 team tour in Australia from April 1 to 15. The Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) stated that Jones violated their ethics and disciplinary regulations. As a result, he will miss crucial matches, including the Nations Championship opener against Italy in Tokyo on July 4. In a statement, Jones accepted the disciplinary action and expressed regret for his remarks, which he acknowledged caused discomfort to officials and related parties. He emphasized his commitment to preventing such incidents in the future. The suspension also includes two games against Hong Kong on May 22 and 29, and a match against the Maori All Blacks on June 27 in Nagoya.
