Abu Dhabi has unveiled a comprehensive school safety guide as part of the 'Our Community is Ready' campaign, aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness in educational institutions. This guide will be in effect for the remainder of the current academic year and into 2026. It was developed by the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) in collaboration with the Department of Education and Knowledge and the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The guide provides an integrated framework for safety management, detailing the responsibilities of parents, educators, students, and safety officers. Parents are urged to comply with official guidance, keep contact information updated, and provide emotional support to their children during emergencies. Educators are instructed to remain calm, follow emergency procedures, and ensure all students are accounted for.

The guide also emphasizes the role of safety officers in preparing schools for emergencies, including conducting drills and managing entry and exit flows. Students are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and follow instructions during alerts. Additionally, specific protocols for school transportation are outlined to ensure student safety while commuting. Ultimately, the guide reinforces that safety is a collective responsibility that requires cooperation and adherence to established protocols.
