In a significant move to bolster Bihar's agricultural sector, the Bihar State Vegetable Processing and Marketing Cooperative Federation Limited (Vegfed) hosted a state-level buyer-seller conference in Patna. Inaugurated by cooperative minister Ramkripal Yadav, the event aimed to promote the 'Har Thali Mein Bihari Tarkari' initiative, which seeks to connect local farmers with both national and international markets. Yadav emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing farmers' income by integrating them into modern marketing frameworks and food processing systems. Cooperative department secretary Dharmendra Singh highlighted Vegfed's role in ensuring fair prices for farmers through direct market connections via Primary Vegetable Producer Cooperative Societies (PVCS). During the conference, various agreements and work orders totaling nearly ₹100 crore were signed, fostering stronger procurement and marketing networks across the state. This initiative is expected to empower rural farmers and improve their economic conditions, with participation from key officials and representatives from vegetable unions.
