The School Service Commission (SSC) has announced the release of OMR sheets for the 2016 exams, a significant move following a court order from the Calcutta High Court. The release will occur in phases, starting with the OMR sheets for classes 9 and 10, followed by classes 11 and 12, and eventually for Group C and D posts. The court had previously highlighted the OMR sheets as a key factor in the corruption surrounding the examination process. After the SSC failed to comply with the court's directive, petitioners escalated the matter to the Supreme Court, prompting the SSC to act just before a scheduled hearing. Candidates can now access their OMR sheets on the SSC's official website by entering their roll numbers. Suman Biswas, convener of a teachers' forum, expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for his support in this long-standing issue, which has affected around 26,000 job seekers. A peaceful gathering is planned at Karunamoyee More on May 13 to discuss further actions with SSC authorities.
