Siddaramaiah, who recently stepped down as Chief Minister of Karnataka, is expected to continue living at Cauvery, the official chief ministerial residence, until 2028. This decision comes after an understanding with the incoming CM, DK Shivakumar. The residence is highly coveted, with only 21 government bungalows available for 34 cabinet ministers and other officials. Siddaramaiah has a long history with Cauvery, having occupied it since 2013, which his supporters consider a sign of political fortune. In the past, he secured similar arrangements to remain at the residence even when he was not in office. Reports suggest that his son, Yathindra, may be inducted into Shivakumar's cabinet and could potentially be allotted the residence, allowing Siddaramaiah to stay. Meanwhile, Shivakumar is yet to finalize his own residence and may consider moving or modifying his current accommodation based on his beliefs in astrology and vaastu.
