In a tragic incident in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, a 60-year-old pedestrian named Ramkrishan was killed after being struck by a speeding car driven by Vikrant Vij, a resident of New Delhi. The accident occurred on Monday on Naggar Farm Road, where Ramkrishan was reportedly dragged for about 20 feet before the vehicle ran over him again. Eyewitness Omprakash confirmed the details of the incident to the police. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene but was later arrested by the police. Authorities have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, along with charges for failing to report the accident and not assisting the victim. The vehicle involved has been seized, and after a postmortem examination, the body was returned to the family for last rites.
