Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that Gen V, a spinoff of the popular series The Boys, will not return for a third season. The decision was made by executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg, citing several factors for the cancellation. While the show began with strong viewership, peaking at 424 million minutes viewed in its first week of Season 2, it struggled to maintain this momentum thereafter. Tragically, the series also faced a significant setback with the death of star Chance Perdomo in a motorcycle accident in March 2024, which delayed production. Despite the cancellation, Kripke and Goldberg have assured fans that the stories of Gen V characters will continue in The Boys Season 5 and other upcoming projects. The creators emphasized the importance of a definitive ending for the series. Looking ahead, a prequel titled Vought Rising, set in the 1950s, is in development, along with another project, The Boys: Mexico. The Boys is set to conclude with its fifth season on May 20, 2027.
