ITC Hotels has announced the acquisition of The Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala Resort & Spa for an Enterprise Value of ₹205 crore (approximately $25 million USD). This strategic move marks ITC's entry into the luxury resort sector in Kerala, enhancing its portfolio in a high-growth leisure destination. The acquisition will be executed on a debt-free and cash-free basis, subject to customary adjustments. The resort is set on 18 acres of landscaped gardens along the tranquil banks of Vembanad Lake, providing stunning views and a private waterfront. It features 72 keys, including 38 villas and cottages, designed around a 5-acre man-made lagoon that reflects the serene beauty of Kerala's backwaters. The resort offers a harmonious blend of traditional architecture and modern luxury, with various dining options, event spaces, and extensive spa and wellness facilities covering about 20,000 sq.ft. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the coming days, positioning ITC Hotels to tap into the growing demand for luxury accommodations in the region.
