In a significant step towards sustainable industrial development, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has launched an action plan aimed at transforming the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative follows the successful AP MSME Growth Summit 2026 and focuses on implementing advanced global technologies for energy and water efficiency. The plan includes capacity-building workshops, cluster mapping, and diagnostic studies for 15 industrial clusters across the state. EESL will perform energy audits for 452 MSMEs and water audits for 300 MSMEs, promoting modern industrial practices that reduce costs and enhance competitiveness. The initiative is expected to generate substantial green employment opportunities, improve productivity, and strengthen environmental sustainability. EESL's CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit emphasized the long-term economic benefits for MSMEs, while officials noted that the current phase is just the beginning of a broader transformation for the industrial ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. This program could lead to the emergence of a green industrial services economy, creating demand for skilled professionals and sustainability experts.
